Here's a shot of the overall site, looking from the end of the gravel road in to the building site- garage is in the front and the house will sit behind the garage- the driveway will loop around and between the two buildings.
The next picture is looking over the dig for the basement. This is the basic view from the window wall of the house.
The last picture shows the corner of the garage foundation and a close up of the shale that makes up most of the mountain. The shale breaks in to layers when the dozer is driven over it and makes a great base for roads and foundations. On Monday, the plan is to start pouring the footer for the garages and over the next couple of weeks, complete both foundations.
