Painting (Not Staining!)
This week saw the start of the wall painting as well, quite a change from all the staining that has been done so far and the paint will add some color to the house. So far, paint work has mainly been to prime the walls. The primer for each of the colors we're using has some tint but only the beige looks a lot like the finished product.
The gray primer is used in the loft and stairway walls which will have a burgundy top coat. In the master bedroom, what looks like mint green is the primer for the color called Evergreen that we're using. Looks like several coats of this will be needed to get a good cover- according to Butch the painter, green can always take multiple coats before it turns out right. You can see the Evergreen in the master bath after only one coat. We chose Evergreen to match the pine needles from the many pine trees on the property- the Burgundy was a match for some of the color in the pine cones so we'll see how they come out but we're optimistic!
